Beats 'n Babies
Fridays, 10:30am-11:00am, July 26 - August 30
Beats ’n Babies is interactive music class for you and your baby (birth to 18 months). Parents and caregivers will assist their little one by engaging in music-making through instrument play, singing, and dancing. You will learn how to utilize music to promote your child’s development whether that be through wiggling, shaking, drumming, or singing. Each week you’ll learn a new song, rhythm, or dance to use outside of class! Throughout this class, parents will develop a musical repertoire to share with their child. Music experiences can help enhance sense of rhythm and steady beat, develop muscle strength in little bodies, and build strong neural pathways in a little one’s forming mind.
Music Together by the Dunes
Wednesdays, 10:30-11:15am, July 17 - August 21
We know children love music - they love hearing it, moving to it, and above all, they love making it! These activities also have a huge impact on your child's development. A Music Together® by the Dunes class is a fun, casual and interactive way to help develop your child's musical growth, while supporting physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth. Want to find out more? Join us and see for yourself how much difference your silly and soulful participation in our classes can make in your child's life.
Music Together is a research based, Music and Movement program for children newborn to age 5 and the adults who love them with classes in 40 countries world-wide including throughout the USA. Instrument play, dancing, singing, tonal patterns, rhythm patterns, parent education and more are all part of our weekly 45 minute music immersion classes. Tuition includes a songbook, CD, DVD, parent guide, newsletters and a unique code to stream or download music from the 'Family Music Zone'. In the non-competitive, non-performance environment the caregivers, regardless of music ability, nurture and bond with the child through musical play. The classes encourage the child's natural enthusiasm, giving them a positive attitude toward music and movement. This creates a solid foundation for future formal music and dance training while helping them get ready for attending school.
Ina Ferrara has been teaching and directing Music Together by the Dunes on the East End of Long Island since 2003.
