Broadway Baby
An Evening with Broadway star Melissa Errico
An Evening with Broadway star Melissa Errico
Tony Award® nominee, actress, recording artist and author Melissa Errico has created a concert just for Southampton which she calls “Broadway Baby”, which is not only a Sondheim song title, but could easily be her own nickname! In her show “Broadway Baby”, Melissa Errico sets her own life to the Broadway songs that she has sung and owned — and both offers a sensational set of beloved standards and a series of witty and sometimes wicked stories about a girl’s, and then a woman’s, life passed on the Great White Way. Rapidly becoming as well-known as an author as an actress, Melissa here combines her two gifts to offer a show that is full of fierce song — and funny stories, too. Come celebrate summer with laughter, Broadway style and, as one critic said, “Melissa Errico’s golden pipes brilliantly handle any song they touch!” Songs by Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, Burton Lane, Marvin Hamlisch, George Gershwin, Stephen Sondheim, David Raksin, Michel Legrand in tandem with great jazz pianist, Tedd Firth.
“Any chance to hear Melissa Errico sing
is a chance not to be missed”
– The New York Times
Singing from the American Songbook, she has an inimitable storyteller style, that has made her a favorite among The New York Times contributors, and she will spin a few tales throughout the evening, while, as one critic says, “she takes a Broadway ballad to the moon and back!” Filled with forbidden stories and great songs, “Broadway Baby” is at once a dazzling set of standards and a witty and rueful account of one woman’s passionate love for, and life lived richly within, the brightest lights of the American musical theater.

“One of the industry’s most endearing and enduring musical storytellers, Melissa Errico has used her work as a cabaret and concert performer to breathe life into one-of-a-kind shows that balance whimsy with intellect, hilarity with empathy, music with conversation, and always in a style so unique, so personal, so original that they might as well make a blueprint of that style for other artists to follow when creating their own acts.”
