Center Stage Announces 2018-2019 Season

Celebrated musicals, timeless associations, thought-provoking drama and an eye-popping feel good event prevail as Southampton Cultural Center/Center Stage reveals its eleventh season of plays, musicals, premieres and innovative and creative programming and productions.

Opening the season and kicking off the holiday season, the Long Island premiere of Joe Landry’s radio version of Meet Me in St. Louis will be performed November 23 through December 9. Michael Disher directs. Alyssa Kelly choreographs. Amanda Jones musically directs. The classic score includes The Boy Next Door, The Trolley Song and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

A new year begins with a modern tale on the importance (or not) of physical beauty – Neil LaBute’s, Reasons to be Pretty. Performances are January 11 through January 27. Joan Bennett Lyons directs.

What is February without love? A.R. Gurney’s, Love Letters will be staged for two weekends only. The nimble two-person play follows the lives and love of Andy and Melissa through their decades of continued correspondence. February 9 through 17.  Michael Disher stages this event.

Eye-popping colors and toe-tapping tunes frame the Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus crowd-pleaser, Mamma Mia! Performances begin March 7 and run through March 24. Michael Disher directs. Alyssa Kelly choreographs. Amanda Jones musically directs.
