Description: This summer, Marlene Markard of Markard Music will return to lead Nature’s Music, a unique 6-week nature-immersion camp that’s designed to introduce children, ages walkers – 5 (with parent/caregiver), to music using nature as a theme.  Children will celebrate music and nature by exploring a different theme each week (trees, insects, weather, water, flowers, etc.) at the Southampton Cultural Center.  Weather permitting, classes will be held across the street in Agawam Park.  Each week, children will sing, dance, move, play instruments, engage in imaginative storytelling, do nature crafts, explore nature, and play music games about and inspired by different aspects of nature.  This beautiful program is designed to foster a life-long love of music and nature.  Nature’s Music is part of the Musikgarten curriculum, a leading early childhood music education program.

• Music Together by the Dunes

Ages: Birth - 7 years of age

Day and Time:  Wednesdays, 10:30am.

Dates: July 12 - August 16 (6 week program)

World acclaimed research based program taps into the child’s innate musical ability, leading them through primary music development to basic music competence. Basic music competence is having the ability to sing a song in tune and keep a steady beat.  Our classes offer a non-competitive, non-performance environment where caregivers, regardless of music ability, nurture the child through forty-five minutes of music play.  Classes encourage the child’s natural enthusiasm, giving them a positive attitude toward music and movement, which creates a solid foundation for future formal music and dance training.  The setting of our classes encourages social interaction and helps develop the skills needed to get your child ready for school.

Tuition:  $190 plus $15 one time family registration,  sibling in same class $150 - infant 6 months or younger in same class no charge
