Sing It!

If you're a musician, singer, songwriter, beat-maker, musical theater or pop music fan, and have seen the movie "Pitch Perfect" or maybe you are familiar with the acapella competition TV show, "The Sing-Off", then this 4 week fun music workshop "Sing It!", is calling YOU! You will be vocalizing, harmonizing by learning to use your musical ear and creating great covers and music mash-ups just like your favorite music artists and movie stars. Then at the end of the workshop you will get a chance to perform in a musical showcase. All you need is to be ready to make some noise and want to have a good time!

This workshop is presented by composer, performing artist, jingle writer and Faith FM radio show host Sheree M.C. Elder.

Saturdays from 10am-12pm October 3rd,10th,17th, and 24th. Tuition: $ 100 (minimum enrollment 10 students)

13th Annual Southampton  String Festival (Ages 6 - 19)

Our 13th season! August 8 - 19, 2016 • Monday - Friday

The mission of the Southampton String Festival is to give students (violinists, violists, and cellists ages 6 to 19) an opportunity to intensively study classical repertoire and skills in a hands-on, fun, creative way while broadening the scope of their musical knowledge and appreciation. Classes are taught by highly-skilled musicians and teachers who have a passion for inspiring students to learn and discover.  Year after year, parents are astonished and amazed by how much their children learn in such a short period of time — and more importantly, how much fun they have doing it.

Music Together is an internationally recognized music program for children from birth through age 5 – and the grownups who love them. At Music Together we understand the importance of music in early childhood – Music learning supports ALL learning!

At the core of the Music Together approach is the idea that young children learn best from the powerful role models of parent/caregivers who are actively making music. Our program brings families together by providing a rich musical environment in the classroom and then facilitating family participation in spontaneous musical activity at home in daily life – which is so important to music development and early childhood learning. It’s based on the recognition that, in a supportive environment, children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and confidently participate in the music of their culture. Music Together creates that environment by emphasizing actual music-making experiences instead of passively consuming music from the media.

We dance, sing, play instruments, create musical verses, do rhythm chants and sing tonal patterns. Come to a class - you will be immersed in music making, while bonding with your child and having a lot of Fun! Families always say “Miss Ina’s class” is their “favorite class of the week”!

Music Together is now offered in 40 countries around the world in 2500 locations. Ina Ferrara offers classes here at the Southampton Cultural Center with Music Together by the Dunes.  Ina is a classically trained soprano who has a Masters Degree in multi media education.  A former NYC public school teacher of elementary education and music she also toured with a show band before moving to the East End in 1980.
