Artists

Cait McCarthy

Cait McCarthy is a portrait photographer from Brooklyn, NY. After moving to Long Island two years ago, she runs her photography business from her home studio in Northport. She frequently exhibits her personal work in Brooklyn cafes and juried shows, but this is her first Long Island show as both artist and curator.

Though her portrait work is commercial and editorial based, her exhibited works are heavily influenced by the ethereality and scale of nature, perhaps as a response to grey landscape of Brooklyn and strong family ties to Ireland.

Cait studied photography at Pratt Institute, is a teaching assistant for the International Center of Photography, and previously worked as a studio assistant for an NYC photo studio.

Griffin Shapiro

Griffin is from Long Beach, New York and currently resides in NYC. He’s been shooting for nearly two years and focuses on portraits and surf photography. He’s always down to experiment with his camera and dabbles in street photography, landscapes, and currently large format photography. When he’s not freelancing, he manages a full service photo studio in Manhattan.

Lena Nicholson

Lena is an artist and photographer from Aspen, Colorado. She moved to New York in 2012 to pursue a career in photography and is a School of Visual Arts alumna.

Her work is often intimate and sensual, whether she’s observing people through portraiture, capturing vignettes of the American West, or working with tactile still lifes.

In 2015, she began making her most intimate work through abstract still life photography. The large format work, titled “Body of Work,” was curated by Jessica Craig-Martin and exhibited in New York as her first solo show. In 2017, she created “O” as a second chapter.

Lena’s work has been exhibited in over 20 exhibitions in Colorado, Georgia, and New York, including former representation by LivAspenArt. Her commercial work has been published online by Cosmopolitan, Elle, Observer, and Vogue and in 2011 she was a featured artist in the Aspen Art Museum’s magazine.

She works as the Lead Photographer at Havas’ Annex88 in New York.

Sarah Cebulski

Sarah Cebulski was born in 1996 in Nanchang China, and adopted at the age of fourteen months. She grew up on Long Island, NY and is currently based out of Jacksonville. Florida. She has been taking photos since the age of twelve when her grandfather gifted her a polaroid camera. Her work varies between film and conceptual images almost always including a human figure or model composited digitally in a square format.

Thais Aquino

I am an aesthete. A person who drinks in beauty. I flourish in the world of color, textures and light. I find peace in the grammar of nature; the subtlety of the movements of human body; the nuances hidden within the geometry of life.

My work is a reflection of this obsession. I find hope in the solitary. The quest to know one’s self and the world around us free from distractions and 21st century bustle. Photography is my gateway to that world. The lens is my portal to a more beautiful and honest reality. Here I find myself and I discover others.

The signs are always the same in my work; the subject matter is easily identified, the space reveals my natural preferences and relationships are often involved. The process is not completely improvised, but definitely very intuitive. My relationship with art is my relationship with confidence and vulnerability.

I will forever contemplate the elusive aspect of people and places, lights and shadows, lines and colors.

I am Brazilian from Rio based in Brooklyn NY.
